H.K. "Kit" Martin and Art Monette have been in the auction business together for twenty five years. For the last thirteen, the Townshend Auction Gallery has been in its present location on Route 30. Kit and Art have always been interested in Antiques. Kit started in the business at 8 years old, selling items at sales he would host at his family home in Newfane.
Art's grandmother was an old bottle collector and from a young age, Art would help her with flea market sales and was always an early bird at auctions, estate and tag sales.
