Both weights and springs provide the power necessary to drive a clock. In general, weights provide an even pull throughout the entire period, whereas springs provide less power towards the end of its wind. To help compensate for the diminishing power, a Fusee clock evens out the power of a clock spring throughout the entire period.
This giant clock is one of London 's best-known landmarks and looks most spectacular at night when the clock faces are illuminated. You even know when parliament is in session, because a light shines above the clock face. The four dials of the clock are 23 feet square, the minute hand is 14 feet long, and the figures are 2 feet high.
For every 15 degrees that one travels eastward, the local time moves one hour ahead. Similarly, traveling West, the local time moves back one hour for every 15° of longitude. Therefore, if we know the local times at two points on Earth, we can use the difference between them to calculate how far apart those places are in longitude, east or west.

I have a clock that is very sentimental to me and the pendulum wouldn't swing, it's a top swinging pendulum. Tony checked with all of his sources and tried everything he could to fix the pendulum, it's an old clock and the parts just couldn't be found but he tried really hard. Was very, very kind and I appreciate his efforts!

I had a 110 year old Junghans wall pendulum clock that finally just wore out and stopped working. This was not a simple repair job. But Tony used his huge knowledge of clocks to figure out the several challenges this repair required and got it right. Now this great clock should be in our family for decades to come. Thanks Tony!

I bought an antique wall clock from Tony which he cleaned and tested to be sure it was properly working. After hanging it at home my husband couldn't stand the sound of the pendulum ticking. I took it back to Tony who worked at muting the sound and we now have it back. Not many small, independent professionals would make such an effort to work with a customer. He is very pleasant and patient.

I had been looking for a simple, antique wall clock for a long time and found exactly what I wanted on Tick Tock Tony's website. After purchasing it in his workshop he kept it for a few weeks to clean it and repair it if necessary, also testing it meticulously to be sure it worked correctly. We hung it based upon his directions, but after a couple of days my husband said the ticking drove him crazy.
There is no other place for it to hang where we couldn't hear it. I took it back to Tony being very disappointed, but he feels he can make adjustments to greatly soften the sound. I am so relieved and pleased that he is willing to try to resolve this issue so we can rehang it and enjoy it. Not every small business owner would work with a customer in that way!

I am very impressed with Tony the Clock Master! He loves what he does and he does it extremely well. Tony is exceptionally knowledgeable about the mechanics of clocks and he is professional, as well. He addressed all my questions and concerns very patiently and thoroughly. It is not easy to find a Clock Master who knows his craft. It was fortuitous that I should find Tony, as I feel as though I found gold.

The wall clock I inherited from my father and which he got from his father and my kids supposed to be 4th generation owning this wall clock. Clock has been working for over 30 years since the last time he had to go for repairs. A year ago, he started going only 3-4 days on winding (he should be working 8-9 days). I took clock to Tick Tock Tony for repair in March 2021.
He briefly looked at the clock machine and said the promised date was June 2021 and it would cost me $ 1200. When he saw my surprised face, he said he had 5-6 clocks before mine and that it would take him 3 full days to work on my wall clock. Month after month passed, and when he asked me in December (ten months later) to give him OK to send a wall clock in Sacramento to a man who is an expert on old clocks.
I said to him that was enough. I gave him a few more weeks of time and came to pick up my clock on January 11, 2022. When I brought clock to him, clock worked for 3-4 days on winding, and after his repair, clock did not work at all. Totally dead clock. He was yelling at me who will pay him for the 60 hours he worked on, and how I didn't give him enough time.
Ten months was not enough? Seven months after the promised date was not enough? Again, clock was in some working condition before Tony, and after his "fixing" clock is totally dead. I took the wall clock to another clock master. He called me after a few days said he couldn't fix the clock at all because some "master" had destroyed it. I asked him if it was from the last repair, or it could be from a repair that was over 30 years ago. he said there was no way the clock had worked for 30 years so destroyed. He said that it was definitely the last person working on it, destroyed the watch to such an extent that it is destroyed forever.

Tony was very professional and knowledgeable. Our clock was not keeping wound and the chime mechanism wasn't working or chiming. He found two problems with the clock and solved both on the spot. We were able to take clock back home after problems solved. Clock is now working great. Thank you, Tony! So glad we found you.

We are thrilled with our purchase of the Grandfather Clock from Tick Tock Tony! A particular clock caught my eye and, without living in California, my wife and I decided to purchase based solely upon photographs on Tony's website. Not only did he aswer many questions thoroughly, he gave an inviatation to visit his home if we needed to prior to purchase!
What confidence is gained by such an honest offer! Our clock arrived and surpassed our expectations. It is an exquisite piece and has been perfectly restored. A local antiques professional was recently at our home and commented "I have never seen a Grandfather Clock so well restored in 25 years of doing business "! Tick Tock Tony is not only highly skilled, he also has a heart for clocks, an honest integrity in business, and a desire to do nothing short of his best in providing excellent work for his clients. I highly recommend Tick Tock Tony to those searching for exquisite antique additions to your home! You will be equally as thrilled!

Tick Tock Tony is AWESOME! I just moved houses and my grandfather clock was not happy with the transition. I owned my Sligh grandfather's clock for 30 years and loved the noises it made.tic toc and chimes. The new house was NOT a home with out the tic toc.chimes. Tony's wife Linda was so responsive and confirmed the appointment and Tony arrived right on time.
Lucky for me, it was an easy fix and Tony was done within a half an hour! He even trained me on a couple things that I did not know about my clock! Many thanks to Linda and Tony for GREAT knowledge, expertise and service with quick response time. Tick Tock Tony and Linda are THE BEST! Many thanks!
