I reached out to Barker's Antique Jewelry on Facebook one evening, asking their opinion of a pair of my late mom's earrings, she had purchased in the late 1950's in Europe and was very impressed with their detailed, informative QUICK response less than 24 hours later! They were able to pinpoint likely era ( Victorian, late 1800-early 1900's) they were from AND suggested a minor modification to the screw back( add a wire and drop slightly) that would give them a modern touch while retaining the original setting. They know their antique jewelry and I can't Wait to shop their website!

Barker's is still the hidden gem of Baton Rouge with the most beautiful vintage and antique reproduction jewelry in the area. Their prices are fair as I have recently compared them to online dealers, even eBay. The problem with online is you don't know if it is authentic or fake, you don't know the person selling and returns are a pain. I wanted a pair of reproduction Etruscan beaded earrings because the real thing is rare and super expensive. Barker's had some gold reproductions for $650, which sounds expensive. However, I found two sites online with exact replicas that cost just over the Barker's price. I am now thinking of saving for the Barker's beautys and keeping my business local! Thanks!
