Went to two estate sales yesterday. One held by TARA and one by Legacies. The employees of TARA were personable, polite and professional. Legacies on the other hand were rude as hell. Legacies required people to remove shoes, fair enough. There were a lot of people so the shoes were piling up. Some old lady who worked there was throwing the shoes into the entry. Then, after an employee told me I could use a credit card, this same old bag interjected and said, "only if you spend more than $20." I was just informed that any amount was applicable to credit. Rude and highly unprofessional. Hire any company but Legacies for an estate sale.

I love this place and come back frequently. It's one of my favorite used/antique furniture stores in the Milwaukee-area. I have furnished our 1910 home with several items from here. If you do want to purchase a large furniture piece you do have to schedule and arrange your own pick up. Honestly, it comes with the price! It's affordable, so I find it very reasonable to ask customers to arrange their own pick ups. Highly recommend this store!

I love this place. My sister and I go there 2 to 3 times per month. Legacies have the best antiques, furniture and crystal. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My sister purchased a very expensive dining room set for under $1,000. It is absolutely gorgeous. This place is a must see for anyone looking for bargains.

Stuff everywhere. Needs more floor space. Things buried. Chairs and other items on top of tables. Better look twice, because the matching set is likely in separate parts of the store. Prices upper end of fair. No worker was particularly friendly Would go again simply to try to see if I missed anything worthwhile

If I could give this no stars, I would. I bid on a teak chair at an estate sale and was notified by a phone call shortly after the bidding ended that I was the highest bidder. I drove back to the estate sale, paid for the item and carried it from the backyard to the front yard (and it wasn't light) when a woman from Legacies came out the front door and in front of many customers yelled at me and told me that's not your chair, put it back, you weren't the highest bidder, etc. Needless to say, it was quite embarrassing to be basically accused of stealing the chair in front of a lot of customers.
I told her that I received a phone call telling me to pick up the chair?!?! She then went on to say that someone else was the highest bidder. They did return my check after it took awhile to find it. I asked for a credit to their store for my troubles and she told me to look around the house I was in?!?! Another employee said "blame it on me, " but didn't apologize and was very flip.
As I was leaving someone else who works there did apologize, but didn't offer my any compensation for my trouble. This all happened AFTER they gladly took my money! There were also signs at the estate sale that all sales are final, but apparently this only goes one way. I should have just kept carrying the chair to my car. After all, it was a final sale.

Come see the 2000 pounds of crap packed into the 1000 pound building. Too much stuff in this place! Super small isles. Legacies has created what bars call a butt funnel. ( A narrow passage requiring people to rub as they pass.) This action is great in a bar, but (butt) bad in a consignment shop. Especially, if your rubbing against a little old lady who smells like moth balls.
Most people hit this place for antiques, jewelry or fine china. But, every once in a while I snatch up a cool beer stein or other desirable collectable. Check back frequently as the inventory rotates regularly. Staff is always friendly & professional. Plenty of parking to serve you. Note: Head boards for beds are outside the store on the walkway. Why? I have no idea! But, it looks like a hoarders dream along with all the other crap out there.

Not your usual shit-show consignment shop. A great place to visit every few months. You just never know what you are going to find. Most of the items found here are extremely clean and in great shape. The quality of the merch here runs on the high side. They seem to have a preponderance of late 1980's furniture. I'm thinking a lot of this stuff was purchased by North Shore grandparents to be placed in sun rooms, parlors, and guest bedrooms.
Most of this stuff looks like it was barely used. Money doesn't always account for taste though. Some of this stuff is pretty tacky. There is plenty of non-furniture items as well: fine china, wall hangings, glassware, costume jewelry, pottery, and general brick-a-brack. Prices drop 15% every month, so if you have your eye on something, watch the calendar and hope no one else snatches it up! Or, never fear. Stock rotates frequently, something may catch your eye instead.

Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Stock here rotates constantly so you'll always find lots of items to consider. They are definitely heavy on china sets, crystal and furniture (mostly traditional style). You never know what you'll find, though - we've picked up an art gem or two here over the years but sometimes all they have is Patrick Nagel prints from the '80s or crappy starving artist garbage. Today, hubs scored a nicely framed London subway map for about $30.
Unlike traditional antique stores, everything here is on consignment so the price goes down 10% each month (max of 6 reductions). That means you can score a deal but also means no haggling. And some items are WAY overpriced - a Toulouse-Lautrec poster for $195? You must be crazy! All in all, Legacies is a great place to pick up nice things for a fraction of the price especially if you have an open mind.

I can't believe Legacies has never been reviewed! Probably because it's mostly old ladies who frequent it. My husband and I are really into antiques and Legacies has furnished half of our house for a fraction of what we would have paid if we bought the stuff in an actual antique store. They have great deals! Stuff moves fast so you'll have better luck if you check it regularly.
Keep in mind that the price on the price tag is always 10% off for every month the item has been sitting in the store (each tag is marked with the date the item came in)--that's where you get the real deals but it's always a gamble if you wait cause someone else might snatch it up. Great stuff here!
