The shop has been located in Old Town Alexandria since 1980 and is know for antique & estate jewelry and sterling silver flatware and hollowware and stocking unusual and unique items that are not commonly found.
The jewelry selection includes rings, brooches, bangles/bracelets, earrings, necklaces. Victorian and Art Deco gold watch chains are favorites as well as cameos carved both in shell and hardstone. Art Deco filigree diamond engagement rings set in white gold and platinum as well as filigree bracelet and "cocktail"or "dinner" rings are always in stock.
The sterling silver flatware includes pieces in patterns like "Chantilly" by Gorham, Francis I by Reed & Barton and Baltimore patterns like "Rose" by Stieff and "Baltimore Rose" by Schofield. There is a large collection of sterling silver souvenir spoons depicting historical locations like Mt. Vernon, VA. or events like the St. Louis World's Fair. As far as the sterling holloware, the range includes Georgian sterling cake baskets to Art Deco sterling mustard pots with cobalt blue glass liners.
It's an eclectic mix of intriguing merchandise with porcelain figurines displayed with the silver along with hatpins and half dolls. Also there are many small bronzes mostly European depicting animals and traditional subject matters.
On the walls are oil paintings and color etchings by Austrian artist Luigi Kasimir along with a collection of Danish Christmas plates by Royal Copenhagen and Bing and Grondahl.
The shop maintains a "Wish List" for any specific requests that we may not have in stock.

We planned to go to several shops around old town when looking for an engagement ring. Most of the rings we looked at before the Antique Guild were not my style. After stopping at the Antique Guild, we looked no further and purchased a beautiful ring. Their staff were very friendly and the woman who helped us pick out a ring spent time going through all the options with us, explaining the differences in style and materials. It was a great experience and we wouldn't have found or picked out this wonderful ring without their help!

I stopped into the Antique Guild out of curiosity and found the selection absolutely breathtaking. The store is filled to the brim with jewelry and other one of a kind antiques. For such incredible pieces of history, I expected the prices to be outlandish but, was pleasantly surprised to see very reasonable prices on all the items I looked at. The store is located right off King Street across from City Hall.

My daughter and I visited this wonderful antique shop today. Mara, the owner, and her lovely mother were exceptional- so kind, helpful and welcoming. The jewelry and goodies found here are exquisite. My daughter loves antiques and Mara was knowledgeable and happy to share info about the different items she was looking through. We will definitely return! :

I went into the shop this past week while visiting, i love antique jewelry and i was not disappointed. The owner and her mother were the loveliest people. So helpful, kind, and really knew her stuff. While i didn't end up buying anything (yet) i will always know where to go to get it. Excellent place!

We went here again earlier this year, and my wife ended up buying a couple more pieces. I won't bore you with the details, but I'm adding another review because I just wanted to say what a pleasure it is to deal with an owner who's so friendly, knowledgeable, and so dedicated to giving great customer service. And fun to talk to! We're definitely customers for life.

A great shop, with a wonderful selection of items, and a friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I have bought a number of things here over the years, and I look forward to making my annual pilgrimage to find my wife a nice piece of vintage jewelry for her birthday. Without fail I always manage to find something beautiful that my wife's thrilled with.

I found this shop thanks to instagram. They have such a selection of antique pieces and are fairly priced. I wish I lived closer to see their stock live. I purchased a really lovely antique fob, they kindly held the item for a month until I was able to mail the payment. If you are interested in purchasing something they will also email you photos of different things and answer any questions you may have. If you live in the area don't hesitate to go there if you're looking for antique or estate jewelry. Very honest.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here shopping for (and purchasing) an engagement ring. I knew I wanted an antique ring and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted from a lot of online shopping. We went to a more ritzy place in DC first, and while their rings were gorgeous, they were also way out of our price range, and the selection of antique rings was pretty small.
So we popped in to The Antique Guild after I looked at their website. Mara, the owner, and her staff were so warm and welcoming. They took the time to listen to me about the style I was looking for, and showed me several rings in our price range. We ended up blowing the budget just a little when Mara showed us something that was just perfect! I'm so happy that we found such a beautiful ring, but also that I have such great memories of our experience purchasing it. I highly recommend The Antique Guild and will definitely be back. (If you're not looking for a ring, they have a beautiful and diverse selection of other antiques!)

My fiance & I stopped by this gem of an antique store on a whim to look at wedding bands. Like the previous poster, we stopped by shortly before closing but the store owner & her mother stayed open late to help us select a ring. I found the perfect wedding band (circa 1930's) at a great price. Some of the rings I looked at were priced as low as $250, though I saw some more expensive pieces as well. The owner told me she has jewelry worth over $1500 appraised, just in case you were wondering. Overall, great experience, great people.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience here today. my boyfriend and I recently began shopping for engagement rings and were interested in checking out some different antique and estate pieces. Another couple had recommended The Antique Guild and we were eager to check it out. The two women in the store were wonderful, showing us many pieces, giving honest critiques, and offering helpful tips about engagement ring shopping in general --- they even told us to check out a couple other local places before making a final decision!
At the end of the day, we returned to purchase a gorgeous platinum diamond engagement ring that I am thrilled about and that my boyfriend is even more thrilled about, considering the extremely reasonable price! I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for a unique engagement band and excellent customer service. five stars!

I have been a Yelp free-rider, but this store was so wonderful I was inspired to write a review. It has antique jewelry of amazing quality, and the personal attention that makes you feel instantly at home. My boyfriend and I came and fell in love with a ring. Not wanting to buy the first we saw, we looked all over for a month and then came back for the one we loved.
No other selection or store came close, in quality or price. Mara remembered all about us and was extremely knowledgeable, warm and generous. For a one-of-a-kind experience and, if you're looking, one-of-a-kind rings, definitely make this your first and last stop.

My boyfriend and I were shopping for an engagement ring and wanted to find something unique and reasonably-priced. We arrived at the store 10 minutes to closing, but they gave us undivided attention and showed us many beautiful rings. The selection was very nice, with prices as low as $200. They had solitaires, bands, and eternity bands. And I am happy to say that we found "the one": a circa-1930's diamond ring that cost under $300! If you are looking for reasonably-priced antique engagement ring options, check this place out.
