Services
Our expert dealers have decades of experience appraising an array of vintage pieces. This includes a variety of antique furniture, along with individual collectibles and collections of antique costume jewelry, silver, porcelain, paintings, oriental rugs and tapestries. No other antique dealer and appraisal company in the Hudson Valley or New York State can offer our level of expertise or caliber of inventory.
The Appraisals staff at the emporium are delighted to offer the Hudson Valley Community our Antique & Estate Appraisals. How This Works: If you have inherited an heirloom from a deceased relative, simply come to the Rhinebeck Antique Emporium, between Hyde Park, NY and Rhinebeck, NY on Route 9 and we would be happy assist you further.
The insurance appraisal is an important way to protect your investment in personal property such as furniture, antiques, porcelain, silver, paintings and collectibles. This appraisal will provide the necessary documentation to substantiate the existence, condition and replacement value of your belongings.
Sometimes it is necessary to value an estate for tax reasons. When this is the case, the executor should consider using a certified appraiser for this purpose. A knowledgeable appraiser will seek to efficiently catalogue all items providing an appraisal that meets IRS requirements but without the level of detail normally provided for an insurance appraisal.

I always love visiting this place, well before the pandemic ever happened. They always have a wide selection of antiques, and I usually can pick up something small. They have some really nice bigger items but I live down in the city and have already furnished my apartment - but I wish I could buy some of these bigger pieces. The owners have always been helpful when I have had questions and always welcomed me into the store. In general, it's really disappointing to see people tank the reviews of this place all because they implement a policy to protect themselves and their workers. This pandemic sucks, but I don't understand why people have to be so childish as to hurt the livelihood of a company. If you don't want to wear a mask, just don't go. Find a bathroom 5 minutes down the road. Live and let live. Antique on!

If you are not in the area and you do not visit this establishment; you are doing yourself a disservice. Excellent range of quality vintage merchandise and not-too-contemporary high-end merchandise.

Stopped in after the Barnstar Antique Show at the Duchess County Fairgrounds this weekend and was so glad that we made the detour - super friendly staff and a great selection! Will be back to see what's "new" on our next visit to the area!

They don't allow their customers to use their restroom which is outrageous given this is a stand alone business and there are no other facilities in the area. I understand being apprehensive with COVID but they don't require masks so clearly that is not their concern. I was 6 months pregnant (very clearly so) and the women just said "I feel for you but no". Not allowing a pregnant woman to use the restroom is despicable.

Gorgeous Antique Emporium filled to the brim with treasures! Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as I was looking for a specific item for a wedding gift. What I found was even better than I could have imagined! This will indeed become a regular stop on my way to the City. Thank you again for your kindness and professionalism!

Nice things but I refuse to spend my Money in antique centers that do not accommodate their customers. I travel long distances for new antiques as it is my hobby. But when I get to a place after driving 1-2 hours and their is no restroom for customers it tells me they don't care about the people who spend money in their establishment. I move on. shame on you!

Stopped by today as I do several times a year. Before both of my feet were in the door I was rudely told to wear a mask (the mask mandate is over). I supported this business through the pandemic and even purchased a few things I didn't "have" to have to support them in tough times. Had the gentleman behind the counter been a little pleasant I wouldn't be writing this review.

I would have been back another day to spend money when they no longer required a mask. Now, I will never shop or recommend this place to anyone again. There are a lot of places to spend my dollars, and sadly, this will no longer be one of them.

Use to go antiquing in Rhinebeck about 30 years ago. Loved the charming town, Red Lion Inn, local luncheonette and ice cream parlour and the charming antique shop and consignment shop next door to the Red Lion Inn. The quality and stock of antiques in these shops of all kinds was excellent. Bought so many lovely items that I still have. Today I just looked at your wed site. Was VERY disappointed in the pics of the stock displayed in the varied rooms of the Emporium.

The antiques pictured in the Emporium seemed to be of VERY mediocare quality. Nothing very fine or beautiful was pictured. Certainly nothing I would be interested in purchasing. So sorry I have to report this opinion. But even more disappointed that Rhinebeck's antique shops I use to visit no longer stock the beautiful antiques I remember. Perhaps there are new shops that I do not know of that do. But I am sure the town and homes of Rhinebeck are still beautiful. Cliff

Its up to you.the owner to make good on customers bad experiences as it IS YOUR SHOPPE HENCEFORTH YOUR REPUTATION which i quickly found out is worthless anyway! I AM not Brian Oloo! Secondly read the facebook post i put up including all the texts between myself and Larry. I did Not ask for money nor did i examine chairs several times as the transaction was done off the books so they didnt have to pay taxes. If anyone doubts my story or doesnt believe me contact me ill send the texts also im not attacking their character or ethics as they have none.

I am a longstanding resident of Dutchess County for over 30 years. Antiquing throughout the Hudson Valley has ALWAYS maintained a general rule of courtesy and responsibility between the shop owner's and their visiting customers: "IF YOU BREAK IT, YOU PAY FOR IT". Due to the limited space in a majority of these shops, the customer should not invite small children inside (they are almost certainly prone to break an item).

Accident or not, it is NOT the shop owners fault for a customers inability to circumnavigate around breakable objects or be supervised while perusing the stores many artifacts. Happy antiquing to all who enter these eclectic gems of past and present.

I'm giving this store a middling review because of a problem I had. All stores are different, but the rule in the antique store where I work is that if the customer breaks something, it's usually considered the "cost of doing business" and the dealer absorbs the loss. Especially if it was an accident, and the cost of the broken item is low. While carrying an item (a tool) I wanted to buy, one part of the item fell off and broke a $10 plate.

I walked over to the person in charge and told him the problem. I put the item I wanted to buy on the counter, and offered to pay for the broken item. We walked over to the area where the accident happened, and without saying a word, he removed the broken plate and went back to the register. When we checked out a little while latter (bought 3 items), the bill was tallied and the $10 broken plate was included.

I paid, and now I'm writing this review. Never did the person ask if I was OK (I did shatter a piece of glass), never offered to absorb the loss -- he could have at least contacted the specific dealer and obtained the value of the item and charged me that. Note: I purchased 2 items from the same dealer I broke the plate. Other may not agree, but this annoyed me enough to write this criticism.

Very nice place to look around. Prices are pretty good. Looks small but get inside and it goes and goes. There are over 30 vendors inside. We bought a really neat cookie jar. Decent price. We will come back again in Sept. When we are back for a visit.

Great antiques--something for everyone's budget and taste! I had a great time wandering thru the booths. The shop was clean and organized and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Take your time and take a look!
