Mary Smith worked this huge, splendid sampler in 1829. An outstanding fully worked, blue house commands the composition, with its many mullioned windows, two chimneys and gated door, and with the huge star-like leafy formation sprouting up between the chimneys as well. Stemming from the lawn, a zigzagging border of eyelet-stitched grapes and huge tendrilled leaves border the scene on three sides.
