It's so hard to find a trustworthy antique jewelry store. I kind of cringe just thinking about buying diamonds, everyone does it scary! Now think about buying one that's antique, even scarier! I totally have a different opinion after my purchase with Lang Antiques. They are literally the best out there. The staff is amazing to work with and they are the experts on antique jewelry.

My husband and I found the perfect engagement ring from Lang Antique. It's a mid-century vintage diamond and it's absolutely stunning - such a unique and gorgeous ring! And Natalia was such great help to us throughout the process. When we purchased the ring, she helped with sizing and gave us the ring wrapped in a beautiful box along with a congratulatory bottle of champagne. Such a gem of a shop!

I bought my fiance's engagement ring entirely online from Lang Antique & Estate Jewelry and got everything shipped to our home state. While we were in San Francisco recently, we made a special trip just to see the Lang storefront. We wanted to see the store and check out some other pieces (one pictured an all emerald ring.) The staff was helpful, friendly, courteous, and accommodating.

I found my perfect engagement ring on their website and worked with Tracey through the whole process to purchase the ring. If you are like me, buying an expensive piece of forever antique jewelry sight unseen - online - seemed like an intimidating and overwhelming prospect: there are so many online options, so who do you shop with to take the worry out of what you are buying and how do you know if the seller is reputable and is selling you an authentic antique/vintage piece.

Lucky for me I found Lang Antiques online. Their excellent customer service and friendly and knowledgeable sales team, along with their 10-day return policy for a full refund (including a prepaid return label) from the time your package arrives, took the worry and stress out of my purchase! And, their "University" section that gave me the history, renowned designers, hallmark/maker's marks and a glossary of terms was extremely useful to have at my fingertips when making my antique ring purchase.

That said, please don't pass up a visit to Lang's website (they also have a retail store). I can't say enough about the wonderful experience and beautiful forever antique ring they helped me select. And, how they took the stress and concerns out of shopping for it online! I am an over 100 percent satisfied customer, and I will be purchasing from Lang Antiques for years to come!

What a wonderful experience I had with Nicole at Lang. I had found a ring online that I was interested in purchasing for my wife for our anniversary. Nicole was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. This wasn't an inexpensive purchase and at first, I was a bit nervous about doing this online. Nicole's professionalism and goodhearted nature was the icing on the cake that led me to take the plunge. I couldn't be happier with the ring and my wife is over the moon. Just a short response to the one star review left by Felix. I had a designer jewelry store in San Francisco's Cow Hollow area and I must say that the people at Lang's Antiques know more about antique jewelry than 99% of the antique jewelers I have met. They even established an Antique Jewelry University where many dealers have gained an education.

I think that Felix must have misinterpreted the information that was given to him. Often times antique jewelry is repaired with techniques or materials that are not representative of the original manufacture. This can make them unacceptable for the antique jewelry purist. Lang's Antiques is well known in the jewelry business as one of the very finest in the United States and one of the things that separates them from their competitors is that they are purists who would not sell an antique item modified with modern elements as an antique piece.

I purchased several pieces from this place. I have a background in gems and jewelry. I am also familiar with this store's origins and the robbery. I was therefore astounded when I took some vintage pieces there for possible resale and consignment, only to be told they were not "antique" enough. Beware folks.

I have now purchased a few items from Lang. At first, I was a little nervous purchasing online fine jewelry. I have no reservations now. Their pieces are truly represented on their site. I needed to return a piece and it was a no-hassle process. And best of all, their service is top notch. You can buy with confidence from Lang!

A gem of a jewelry store! Lang has beautiful antique pieces and a lovely staff to guide you through them. I highly recommend working with Kaye. She helped me find the perfect engagement ring and patiently answered my (never ending) questions about it. I had some issues with the sizing, but she worked with the store specialist to make sure we got it right. She even expedited the process to ensure we had the ring in time for a family trip.

Lang is a great place to look for a vintage engagement ring. They have a huge selection of rings in great shape and the customer service was to notch. Best of all, they don't require an appointment. Lang was the first stop in my engagement ring hunt based on their website--it has very clear pictures and detailed info about everything they have in stock, which was useful both before and after my visit. (Their store policies are also clearly outlined on the website.) I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted at the time, but the sales associate who helped my partner and I was super helpful, patient, and encouraged me to try on as many as I liked.

She didn't try to push us into buying anything--in fact, she encouraged us to look around at other shops, but said that Lang has the best selection in town. She was right. After scouring Yelp and searching for other antique jewelery stores, I was less impressed with the competition. Many were by appointment only (with pretty limited hours) or had a much smaller selection that wasn't as clean or as well cared for. Ultimately, I decided not to get a vintage ring, but I was impressed by my experience there and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for vintage jewelry.

This ring was and remains one of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen. Since I make more money than my fiance, and didn't want "the ring" to get away, I purchased it myself. My engagement ring is from Lang. Best experience ever and had to come leave a review after this last round. I received my ring in April (now September) and the prongs on the center stone had already lifted twice. The first time, I took it in and they tightened them for me. The second time, they took it more seriously. Land sent my ring away to their jeweler, who redesigned the prongs to be more sturdy. It's beautiful and blends seamlessly with the rest of the ring and they didn't charge a thing. Thank you!

This is a an amazing shop with a great selection of inventory. I didn't want a "new" diamond ting for several reasons, primarily ethics and design. I started my search at Brilliant Earth, but was appalled with three horrible service. After deciding that if I were to her engaged, then it'd have to be a vintage ring. We did a ton of research in the Bay Area and found nothing comparable to the Art Deco pieces Lang offered.

What truly makes this place unique is their level of service. Kaye Rodden helped me and I was so impressed by her expertise and kindness. I didn't feel pressured to look at more expensive rings nor judged for my preference. She was super attentive without being pushy and that was, as much as the quality of the ring, instrumental in my decision to purchase from Lang. Bonus: they offer a 5% military discount! Our experience at Lang Antique & Estate Jewelry could not have gone better. After a colleague suggested that we visit the store, we decided to check out the website first. The Lang website is very clean and easy to navigate through their collection of beautiful jewelry from the past. When I decided to propose to my girlfriend, I knew that I wanted to find a ring that was as unique as she. I suppose that I'm a romantic at heart, and I wanted to surprise her with both the proposal and the ring, so I did not elicit any suggestions as I wanted to give no hints. There were many options, but I narrowed down my jewelers of choice to Lang Antiques and Dianne's New and Old Estates.

I visited Lang's website which shows the store's entire live inventory. The rings here are primarily estate pieces, many dating to the Edwardian Era (1901-1919) or older. There are also a very few new and modern rings, but the best pieces here are all Edwardian or Art Deco rings. The detail and style achieved by the craftsmen of those long gone times is not easily replicated.

The truth is that the engagement rings at Lang Antiques make the wares at Shreve & Company or Tiffany & Company look like mass produced baubles that fell off of an assembly line. If you love labels or want something shiny and new, but without spirit, then feel free to visit one of those other establishments. Maybe pick up a soda and hotdog while you snatch up a ring at Costco? Lang is easily walkable from the Montgomery BART if you choose to eschew San Francisco parking.

The store is fairly tiny, accommodating no more than four couples comfortably, but it is packed with timeless jewelry from wall to wall. Once inside, I knew that visiting any other jeweler would be unnecessary. There are amazing rings here for as little as $700, and for over $150000. Let's just say that I found a comfortable range somewhere in the middle.

Each ring that I looked at was unique and one-of-a-kind. Julie, a GIA trained salesperson, helped me find a group of rings that were within my price range and were the right look for what I thought my girlfriend would love. She gave me a refresher course on diamond basics, on vintage rings, and also advised that there is a 3% cash discount for all purchases, which would otherwise be paid as merchant fees to their credit card vendors.

As such, I made an appointment to return the following day. After a sizeable bank withdrawal (requiring Federal disclosure reporting), I returned to Lang where Angela helped me with my final purchase. Luckily, the sales people here pool their commissions, so there is no undue, cutthroat pressure from anyone at Lang. It should be noted that not all of the rings here are able to be GIA certified as this type of certification requires a loose diamond, and removing vintage diamonds from their existing rings could often cause irreparable damage.

That being said, many of the rings here do have a GIA cert, if such a thing offers you any peace of mind. In the end, I found a ring with a conflict-free, one hundred year old diamond that had been salvaged from a ring unsuitable for resale, and mounted into a new ring, handcrafted in the Edwardian style. Though Lang may not be the right jeweler for everyone, it was the right choice for me (us). And she said yes!
