Brought my grandmothers old, in bad condition, floor lamp for refurbishing. Initially store keeper thought it was brass and that it would clean up well. I was advised a few days later that it was not brass and that he would do the best to clean it up. Lamp also required a new globe and shade. Picked up the lamp a few days ago. Storekeeper took it upon himself, without consulting us, to paint the lamp a bronze and bright gold color.
We are not pleased at all. We've taken some steel wool to it, got a lot of the paint off, it so it's looking better. Storekeeper also told us to use a three way bulb. Three-way does not work. Only works two-way. Last but not least, we are not at all pleased with how the shade fits. We believe it's the wrong size, as the indents on the shade do not fit the globe properly, thus the shade slides around very easily if bumped. We're sorry for having brought the lamp to this establishment.
