Over the last 48 years we've been privileged to have sold many wonderful collections including de-accessions from several museums including Mt. Vernon, Williamsburg, Dayton History and Carlos Doll Museum as well as large and small personal collections.

Well today was my first auction at Baxters. We were called and invited by the owner himself. We came early, got our number and settled in our 2 square feet of space left to stand before the auction started. Might add we took the day off work to attend. The auction started off a few minutes late, no biggie, the anticipation was high, we were ready to buy.
A 1/2 hour later and 3 items bought, we went outside to load our purchases, the first chance we could wiggle our way out the side door, got outside and one of our large items had been taken. A huge sliding iron elevator door. Let the auction folks know and we're led to believe it would be taken off our bill. While missing the auction we tried to sort out the problem when we wer approached by the owners wife ( I was told later) and she said it was too bad and we had to pay for the item. Aaaaa sorry, NO Lady, it was stolen, check our truck.
So I politely told her we would not be paying and she said, " then u need to pay and leave". Bu bye Biotch. We gone. Seriously horrible business practice. Sorry we didn't get to spend our $$$$$ but will never be back. Poor business model. I think this was the first time they handled such a large auction and were very ill prepared and reckless. We will Never be back.

I took my 88 year old Mothers doll collection to be auctioned in October 2016! There were 186 dolls! Among them various Boyd's and Marie Osmond dolls! I received $118.94! I could have sold these dolls in a garage sale for $1.00 a piece and made more money than that! Stay away from this auction house!
