Wooden Nickel Antiques We buy and sell saloon back and front bars, fireplace mantels, architectural salvage, stained glass, chandeliers, furniture, decorative arts, and fine arts. This will give you a brief, fun glimpse into some of the wonderful treasures that you can find at Wooden Nickel! Our top selling items at Wooden Nickel are antique saloon back bars. They were produced in many sizes and "models".

We take pride in restoring and/or remodeling these beauties back to their original condition. Most of the bars at the store are from the late 1800's to the early 1900's, and over time we have also had some really flashy Art Deco bars come through.

Services
Antique furniture at Wooden Nickel is a constant turnover. We specialize in vintage furniture from the 19th and early 20th century. We carry large American, Victorian, Renaissance, Gothic, Arts and Crafts pieces such as sideboards, bookcases, hall trees, tables, armoires and the like. There are also beautifully carved European pieces in inventory most of the time. We buy and sell such makers as Mitchell and Rammelsberg, Horner, and Wooton, to name a few.
Architectural salvage is our very first love. We started out over a quarter of a century ago, salvaging all sorts of fabulous items from buildings in the 1800s era. Those days were good to us, but due to the rehabbing boom, the items we salvage are not as readily available. We still get large buildings & church buildings for salvage, but that type of merchandise quickly sells.
Wooden Nickel Antiques has been buying and selling antique saloon back and front bars for 40-plus years. They hail from the 1880s to 1905 era. The back and front bars are in many styles: Triple arch, single arch, pub bars, and canopy bars. Many are from prominent manufacturers, such as Brunswick, Rothschild, Charles Passow & Sons, and more.
We always have antique lighting for sale in our store. Antique chandeliers can truly be called "jewelry for your house"! We stock gas, electric, and combination chandeliers in all styles and origins (American, French, Art Deco, Arts & Crafts, Gothic, Renaissance, Rococo). These chandeliers come in brass, bronze, iron, alabaster, and crystal. They are for homes or commercial use.

Very Rude! Sent my grandfather in to try and find a piece of trim to match the existing trim in my house from 1914, and owners were completely rude and about it. Customer service LACKS!

This is our reply to the recent review by PAUL STOTTS: The item that Paul asked us to remove from the wall was a large, heavy gold-painted mirror/picture frame just high enough to be out of arms reach. To take it down for him (or anyone) would have required two staff people to do so carefully. (NOTE: We did not have two people onsite at the time.) He could not have taken this item with him for the same reason; it would require delivery.

It was possible for him to take a photo with his phone at close range and zoom in to see details. (It was not out of sight, just inaccessible to move at that moment.) And since we also have photos with close-up details on our website, he could have easily examined the photos there. Perhaps Paul is not experienced in shopping at stores with items that are primarily architectural, large, heavy, and harder to move than in cases of displays at antique malls.

When I expressed interest in a piece I was told they would not give me access to inspect it and I had to buy it to inspect it. I am not sure what clientele they have or how they sell anything with that absurd attitude

We own an 1892 Eastlake Victorian home and over the past several years, we've worked with the Wooden Nickel on a number of occasions in order to acquire period-appropriate antiques that would work well with both the age and style of our home. The owners and their associates are extremely knowledgeable and helpful and we've found every interaction and shopping experience to be absolutely exceptional!

They've been in business for over 40 years and they are experts in both the antiques and historical salvage industry. They offer a wide selection of inventory at fair market prices and they also have a top-notch delivery team! Stop by their shop in Cincinnati or visit them online to see for yourself. You'll be glad you did.

Some really special pieces at this place! Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. The owner is very honest. I purchased a piece with a defect (in the scrap room), and he made sure I knew what I was getting. Very trustworthy

Worst customer service. Blond lady barely acknowledged me, she was rude and condescending. I have a very rare art piece I found in my historical home (1865) but not bringing my business here.
