My sister and I showed till we dropped here. Such a lovely selection. Wonderful quality and reasonable prices. They have a good Covid policy, but they didn't have any hand sanitizer which is totally fine because I mean that stuff is hard to find sometimes. I love this store. Can't wait to get paid so I can go back.

A great place to browse and see some do-dads from yesteryear, but I bought very little. This store is made up of several dealers, and common to many other antique shops, they have the same problem: some dealers have way overestimated the value of their 40's - 70's merchandise (and there's a lot of it). Maybe because I do a lot of antique hunting and estate sales, I know how common vintage beaded purses and Fire King dishes are, and that embroidered aprons can be found a dime a dozen, but I found most of the prices here to be bonkers.
A lot of S&P shakers, ceramic planters and figurines, dish towels, way overpriced Xmas ornaments and costume jewelry (I bought a pair of $6 earrings because they were cute and the price was right). The only exception at this store is the attic area that has a fabulous collection of vintage and over-the-top retro items. Tons of cute sunglasses. I got a cute pair of new pleather Mary Janes for $20.
That made it worth the trip, but it was definitely more window shopping than actual buying. COVID-19 info: we were the only customers so it was easy to social distance. Not sure if they have a maximum customer limit but it is very narrow in places.

This place is much much bigger on the inside than it appears from the street. You can spend a lot of time in here looking around. The friendly older lady behind the counter left us alone to wander and explore after a quick greeting. I found a cute bumblebee brooch (a new collection favorite of mine) at the jewelry counter up front she was sitting behind and wandered around the rest of the store looking at everything.
There are a few small rooms downstairs and some back stairs that lead up into three more rooms, one of which in the back facing the street with a wall of windows is large and open and has a ton of clothing items, shoes, and sunglasses. We found hundreds of sunglasses of every style and shape and had a great time trying them on and imaging costume parties for each style. Prices are fair for the most part and they have a little of everything and a lot of some things.
This is worth a trip inside if you like antiquing and if you are in downtown Staunton and have some time. There are a bunch of small shops on the street and parallel or side street 2-hour parking can easily be found nearby.

You can literally spend days in this multi-floored antique/thrift store and not see everything! Last time I was here, I found several turquoise rings for a great price! To list all the items you'll find within these walls would take volumes! Suffice it to say, go in and give your eyes a feast. Don't miss the retro floor where you'll be saying over and over "Oh look, I had that as a kid!"

By far one of my favorite places in Staunton. They had a lot of stuff! They are helpful and love the talk to you about what you're looking for. Perfect Example: I have a vintage dress that I need altered for an event. It's a gorgeous, old, one of a kind dress and I couldn't find a trusted seamstress from home to do it. So I thought I'd bring it back to school with me and get it done there.
Once I got here, I had no idea where to start. I thought I could pop into 17 and ask their advice. I walk in and explain my situation. The man sitting behind the counter picks up his phone, dials a number and explains my situation again. Then he hands me his phone and I talk to his friend the local seamstress for a good ten minutes. She asks details about the dress and then gives me references.
All I could think the entire time was "Only in Staunton." My friends and I have gone to 17 for many different occasions and we have always had great costumer service and a lot of fun!
