This is why i hate giving 5 stars for something that isnt exceptional. This was so special. A friend surprised me with it. wouldnt tell me anything. Its a antique gallery that is like none ive seen AMAZING. downstairs is the restaurant and i highly recommend doing the lunch and leaving time to explore the shop. I am a rather picky eater and i thought it was good.
But the decor and experience took it to new level. Would be great girl lunch, mom and daughter, date, anniversary or place to propose. Its magical! Only open for lunch and not every day. NEED RESERVATIONS! 3 COURSE MEAL. Starter, entree, dessert. You have 2 or 3 choices for each.

Irish Acres is an absolute GEM in Central Kentucky. There's a reason people visit from all over the nation. The collection of top quality antiques is fantastic, but I love the beautiful jewelry and art even more. To top it off, Irish Acres is run by the BEST people. Emilie, Jane, and Anna are so lovely to work with. I'll keep coming back again and again!

My sister took me to the Glitz for my birthday. She used to take my mom here when she was still with us. We arrived early so we could look at all the antiques. Beautiful! Gave us lots of ideas on how to decorate for fall and Christmas. Then it was time for lunch. The decor makes you feel special and the servers were excellent. I got the sliders for the appetiser. melts in your mouth.
Perfect size and flavour right on. Next we got the crab and shrimp.cooked perfectly and again just the right amount. Next was the dessert. I believe it was called Nonesuch Kiss. It starts with a light meringue (like my mom used to make) and ice cream, hot fudge, almonds. Wonderful touch to end the meal. I am looking forward to taking my granddaughter and my sister for lunch during the holidays. Better get there before they close for the winter!

First time visiting and I was happily surprised to the beautiful, back in time room after room of everything you could imagine from old historical homes. This delightful place is stunning, the staff was friendly and cordial. We didn't eat but they have 3 seperate dining rooms that were elegant and the ambience was quietly demure and subdued lighting made it even more magical!

Lovely and attentive staff. Food was a delight. I enjoy the cool atmosphere at this lunch only restaurant. This is my third visit and the food has always been well made and tasty. 3 courses are the rule here appetizer entree, and desert. Menu changes every few weeks. I had grilled cauliflower in a aioli, stuffed portobello mushrooms and a sorbet duo. Apple Refresher is awesome!

Love, love, love this place.and so do all of the women I have had lunch with there. The food is wonderful. Always seasonal and high quality. The service impeccable. Jane and Emily are two of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Birthday and Christmas lunches are always on my calendar and lots of "just because".

Glitz is very aptly named! There's glitz galore. Along with sparkle and shine in abundance. The atmosphere is amazing. You will feel like you've stepped into a new world. The lunch was very good. My choices included an apple cranberry spritzer, country ham pate, salmon rice bowl, and wild berry sorbet. I was totally satisfied. Unfortunately did not take any pictures so you'll have to let your imagination go to work! Please go, you won't be disappointed!

Today was our Ladies Day out. The four of us had not been to the Glitz, but had heard a lot about it. Upon entering we were amazed at the beauty of the antiques. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful too. All the food was excellent except the flank steak. It was served raw and was very tough. Could not cut with knife. We were asked several times if we needed anything but no one asked if our food was ok.

The Glitz is always a special experience. It is one of the most beautiful and over the top antique stores (Irish Acres) and a restaurant in one building. The decor of the restaurant and antique store are magnificent. I always love my food and I like that there are two options for each course. This place is MAGICAL. It is WORTH the drive. You will never forget it! I have traveled a lot of places and there is nowhere like the glitz!

I was the only person in my party who had ever been to the Glitz before. I wanted to take my teenage daughters, and mother for a special early Mother's Day treat which would have to include my 6 month old son. When I called to make the reservation, I was told that I could only bring the essentials - no car seat or stroller - so I was prepared for that.
I put only 1 bottle, 1 small chew toy, and a diaper and wipes into my LV purse that I use every day. I did not bring a diaper bag. As soon as we entered today, the greeter told me that my bag was too big and there wasn't room in the restaurant for bags because the tables were too close and the servers would likely trip over it. She insinuated that I should take it back to the car.
I told her that it had my son's necessities in it and that I had to have it. A few steps further into the hall, another lady walks up and says for me to just "tuck in under my chair in the restaurant and that it will be fine" but while I am shopping they can put it behind the counter because they have "lots of glassware". I can not communicate how absolutely absurd that I believe it to be that this public retail establishment would assume that I, at 39 years old, am so negligent and irresponsible that I can not walk into a store and control myself and my belongings or have respect for other people's treasures.
So that set the tone for lunch. Once we got downstairs to the restaurant the hostess and wait staff were inviting and friendly. The atmosphere is absolutely magical. The food is also delicious. I have always enjoyed my previous visits. The restaurant floor space was ample and my bag was neither seen, mentioned, or in the way. Once we walked upstairs to leave, as soon as we got one step beyond the ladies room, yet ANOTHER gift shop staff asked "can I put your bag behind the counter?" to which I replied "I. AM. LEAVING!".
Keep in mind, I was carrying a 6 month old baby with my bag, was in the middle of the hallway, and had not even slowed down to look at any items because I was still offended and exasperated over the way I was treated upon my arrival!

This has always been the "fancy ladies lunch" spot in my family. I remember getting to go the first time as a little girl. The food is almost always truly delicious and beautifully presented. The nonesuch kiss is the classic and my favorite dessert. The building is old and full of personality, we love to wander it after we eat and look at the antiques and jewelry.
My one star takeaway would just have to be because the last two times the meal choices and taste weren't what I have come to expect over the years. Two visits out of 20 years isn't bad at all, my concern is that they were in a row.

The Glitz is a special treasure located outside of Versailles. It had me hooked when I stepped in the front door! Everything from the themed Christmas trees to the vintage decor is absolutely fabulous! The owner and ladies that work there are very friendly and helpful, plus the food is out of this world! If your friends & family are looking for a special experience, look no further!

Great for a girls day out, no matter your age! It reminds me of Alice In Wonderland and the looking glass mirror. To understand this statement, you have to experience it! Lunch and antique shopping at its best.very magical. A true Kentucky treasure nestled in a beautiful Woodford county countryside. A must see!
