City Salvage Since opening our doors in 1998, City Salvage has been a key resource in the preservation, conservation, and restoration of the historic Northeast neighborhoods of Minneapolis. We actively seek salvage opportunities across the Midwest and recover the most intriguing and unique treasures to resell in our showroom, preserving some of the country's most beautiful architectural and decorative craftsmanship.

In addition to our local showroom, our team also travels the country delivering and installing our vintage bars and other large items, ensuring key artifacts of our American history live on to tell the stories of generations past, as well as hear the new tales to come.

Actually was looking for a different place. This was a pleasant surprise. Found an entire display cabinet full of antique metering devices

If zero stars was an option, i'd select it. ordered a fender and bumper on 11/21/21 and were told our part would be in the following tuesday. it is now a month later and a week later and we still have no part. when we call, we're placed on hold and then sent to voicemail and when we try to call back, they ignore. we've gone in in person twice now and were told last week if it wasnt in by this tuesday, they would refund. we went in today and the employee placed someone on hold, told us he wasnt giving us a refund and followed us out the door and left. this place is a joke and shouldnt be in business.

STAY AWAY from this place. Worst business I have ever come across. They will lie to your face with their job completion time and make you pay upfront. A one week job turned into a couple of months of me calling them nonstop and they will just give you the runaround and say next week they'll finish. The owner even said "sorry, hunting season f*cked them up".They would rather waste your time and be out hunting then getting your already paid for job done.

I turned out being the one doing their job for them and found the paint shop they sent my piece to and picked it up myself. Don't give this place your hard earned money. Never would go back or recommend.

This place doesn't have much to offer and what they do have is so cluttered you can't access most of it. Went there looking for some doors and trim which is all stored in the basement. You walk down the stairs and it feels eerily like you're entering a basement that you see in a horror film. Doors and trim packed so tight with barely enough room to check them out let alone pull something out to inspect it.

Didn't find much but I'm sure they have a lot of good stuff normally. Maybe we went on a bad day and it was our first time

A very cozy shop with a wide variety of architectural salvage (old house parts) to suit your needs! Including a basement full of nice old doors. Edit: Sadly, what other reviewers have said about the unpredictable hours is true. I have tried calling all day (1-7-2021) to no avail, so I finally stopped by on my way to another store, and it was all dark and locked.

And there wasn't any note on the door indicating when or if anyone would be returning. This is not the first time this has happened to me over the years. I think perhaps the business owner needs to offer their mobile number as their official business number so that people calling ahead can reach them even if they are out and about at the time. And the business hours here on Google need to be updated accordingly. I would love to support this charming business, but unfortunately I can't spend time chasing after an elusive time slot of actual open hours.

Been trying to go here for weeks but they are never open during the hours they say they are. It also says that they are maybe open Wednesdays instead of giving specific hours. Looks like a great little store, I would just like to know if there is a secret way to find out if they are open.

They weren't open despite it being in the middle of their hours. I was really looking forward to going in and checking them out. Maybe another time. EDIT: I see City Salvage's response. This is inaccurate. I tried to stop by in September of 2019. This review was written in December of 2019. COVID-19 was not the issue. Regardless of why they were closed during business hours, they should have put up a sign. I may still stop in when I'm in town and we're not in a pandemic.

Friendly staff, large selection for old doors and door hardware, also had some impressive bars/diner counters! Prices seemed a bit high on some items but worth it for the right item! I'd give 4.8 if I could :

The owner is seriously just one of the greatest guys you'll ever meet. The selection is second to none and the space is very cool. They will have motorcycle related shows once in a while as well. Just all around good guy, good people and good stuff.

From my previous post, I have been dealing with these people since 11/15/17. They reluctantly agreed to refund my money but as you can see a month later I still don't have it. I have started the process to take them to small claims court. The manage, which has no authority, claims the have sent it out but I seriously doubt they have. If you deal with this company I'd make sure the part is correct and check it over very carefully. If I do receive payment will let you know.

Don't trust these sellers. We had expressed interest in a large item that we were going to pick up the next morning. It was a nice young guy that we dealt with. We called the night before they closed to confirm, and we got there when they opened the next morning. -It was Gone! When asked the white guy with the Huge dreadlocks, he paused and gave us a Lame excuse that it was picked up between closing the night before and opening the doors the morning of.

Total Scam job that he pulled on us! We were promised by the younger guy that it was on hold on not going anywhere and Not to worry! So we drove all the way there for nothing but a Horrible experience to say the Least! Don't trust what you are told by them! That employee needs to be gone from that shop. Not kind.

I have been looking for an unusual door size to install at my home. Jennifer helped me find the perfect door & she was spot-on when I asked her to help me find a fixture for my entry way and a few hardware pieces I needed for my new bathroom. City Salvage is a great resource weather you are going into a new / old / home / condo / house / apt. Highly REC!
