In the spring of 1949, Harold Astor Williams was recovering from an illness and surgery. Harold, or "Grandpa, " as our generation knew him, was ready to work on a part-time basis as he entered the retirement years of his life. With his wife Florence by his side (we are not sure who was the "real boss"), a few boxes of pansies were set out on display on wooden crates and old washstands. This was the beginning! Native produce was offered for sale as it became ready for harvest from the large garden, which had been planted.

CELEBRATION OF SPRING and our 71st YEAR! Martha & Gary & staff are very knowledgeable & professional. Williams Trading Post has always been a family tradition to visit. I remember Martha's Dad selling fruit at the stand. especially delicious cherries. My husband & I plan on starting a new tradition this year.picking out a Christmas tree with our almost 1 year old granddaughter. Thank you Martha & Gary & staff for being so helpful & caring during our visits. Merry Christmas

What can I say about this place that hasn't already been said. One thing come to mind. The atmosphere! You walk in to this tiny red building and you are immediately blown away by the true size of it. I know it's impossible but it truly is bigger on the inside. I know that many things in a small town are hard to find. But William's makes many things easier.
For example if you need to fix your sink and you don't want to drive all the way to Taos. You can probably find what you're looking for there. And let me tell you something else I have meet some of the most amazing people in that shop the staff are some of the most kind and personable people I have had the pleasure to shake hands with. Thank you William's I will be coming back soon.

Williams has a great supply of plants in the spring, much better quality and larger selection than picking up plants at a home depot or the like. Beyond flowers and shrubs they also have a great supply of herbs and garden plants (tomatoes, peas, peppers, cucumbers, etc.) The woman I always see working there goes out of her way to help and answer questions. It's definitely worth going a little out of my way to browse the plant selection here.
