Peter was exceptionally helpful evaluating a vase I had and wanted to find out if it was in fact, valuable. He worked from pictures I sent to him, he was very responsive, and took the time to explain what he was looking at and what he was basing his opinion. He was most gracious and very knowledgeable. I will not hesitate to recommend others to either contact him for his knowledge, or if in Atlanta consider going by his store. I wish everyone was as helpful and kind like Peter.

Mr. Chen is a kind and knowledgeable professional. I have a porcelain statuette that had a clean break of the head off the neck. He gave me excellent advice--he was very honest with me in comparison with another company I contacted. This company is absolutely tops!

One of my favorite Christmas decorations, a ceramic Santa, was broken into numerous pieces over the holidays. Peter did an excellent job restoring the piece and making it look like new! He is a true expert in ceramics, very courteous and does fantastic work! I highly recommend Peter to anyone who needs professional restoration of any ceramic item.

Do not do business with this place. Peter took in my 60 year old furniture antiques and couldn't sell them in over 6 months. Since I have requested them back he has refused to respond to me. Whenever I call or text, he will not respond. Seems like a scam artist to me. We have been able to get him to answer on a unknown numbers from time to time but them he either eating lunch or one time he said that the police blocked access to his building.

Just an update, no response from Peter on this Google review so that tells all you need to know about this place. We have tried to call him repeatedly but it always goes to voice mail. Walk away. Save yourself problems. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They will be calling you soon PETER.

At the beginning of December we passed by this place and noticed "restoration" as a service provided. We had a set of chairs we loved that we got from My wife's grand mother. Early 79's club. chairs that we had recovered in an amazing retro scheme. At a gathering at our place, two people sat down really hard on one of them and the front two legs split away from the side rails and the leading edge of the chair hit floor.

We stopped in and asked if he could do furniture repair. He said sure as I showed him pics of the damage. We brought both the broken and good chair in. He looked at them and said he could fix the broken one and we asked him to strengthen them both so as to not have this happen again. He said no problem and that we should have them before the holidays.

We were not in a rush and just wanted them repaired well. When asked how much he asked, "$200?" We said that would be fine and left them with him. I got a text from him on 12/23/2020 with a pic. No words. When I zoomed in there was something obviously not right. I told him I wanted what I could see that was still wrong, fixed, and we could wait until after the Holidays.

He said he could. I reached out on 1/28/2021 for an update via text with no response. I was getting concerned and just wanted our chairs back. I called him the next day and he said they were ready and made an appt to get them the following day. When I got there I noticed nothing had changed with the chairs. He had not fixed what I asked. I just wanted to be done and get out with our chairs and get them properly fixed.

At the desk he told me $365. I paid it to just get out with them. When I got home and really looked, they were worse than I expected. My wife called the following day to talk to him and request a remedy. What was agreed to was a refund of all but $100. A week plus later no refund. When we have called to i quire as to when it will be processed, the calls go straight to VM.

My wife called from a co-workers phone and, low and behold, answered on the first ring. When he realized it was her, he hung up. Do not do business with the person, "Xi Peter Chen" or Mandarin Antiques. He does not know what he is doing and should have said so. We would have gladly taken them someplace else. I tried to add pics of the "finished" items but I could not.

It took less than a week for my first pieces to sell. I'm impressed with Mandarin Antiques and how nice pieces are displayed as well as the visibility they receive. I plan to sell more of my art with them

Mandarin Antiques was recommended to me by a friend when I was trying to find several Hard to find accessories. He was most helpful and found both of the things I was looking for. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is Interested in Asian antiques!

We took well over $10,000 worth of items to Peter last year and have been trying to get an update on the status of our items for sale. He refuses to answer my texts and hangs up on me when I call. We are getting an attorney involved and have contacted the BBB as well as the business license division. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and feel at this point as if our items have been stolen.

Peter was very friendly, HONEST, and patient with me when I called to ask about repairing my mothers vase. What I liked best about him is that after reviewing pictures of the broken pieces, he let me know up front that it was unsalvageable. Many places would just take your money and then do a shoddy job. Peter was very upfront and honest and I valued that the most. He has great customer service and I have new place to go when I am in the market for antiques!

Thank you, Peter, for going over and beyond what most people would not do. He has taken time during the evening hours and weekends to research and explain some of my Asian pieces. I have never stepped foot into his store or purchased from him and he still offers his services and advice free and so promptly. Just by sending a photo here and there, and in no time he is responding with quality trusting information that has been very helpful to me.

Our lamp was shattered into many pieces. Peter brought it back to life! He meticulously glued all the tiny pieces so perfectly that you can barely tell where the broken pieces are. We now can use our beautiful again. Thanks, Peter.

Not many antique repair shops in Atlanta and I think I found the best in Mandarin Antiques on Cheshire Bridge. My wife's beautiful Don Quixote-on-horseback ceramic statue was shattered into a half dozen pieces and look unfixable. Mr. Chan was very hospitable and helpful. The statute was ready within the week and the work was excellent, just 2 cracks that are barely visible-- I bet few artisans could do better.

Reasonable price, excellent turnaround time and wonderful service with a smile. Also very good at replying to messages and following up. My #1 repair shop moving forward. Great work!
